Oils and lubricants

Classification by origin

• Mineral oils – Obtained by refining crude oil, these are the most commonly used type of oil. They have universal lubricating properties, but degrade more quickly at high temperatures and under extreme loads. These oils are suitable for common applications in the automotive and industrial sectors.
• Synthetic oils – Chemically synthesized oils that offer excellent thermal and oxidative stability. They withstand high temperatures and pressure, making them ideal for demanding applications such as high-speed engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems. They contain advanced additives that significantly improve their performance.
• Vegetable and biological oils – Natural oils made from plants such as rapeseed, olives, or sunflowers. They are biodegradable, more environmentally friendly, and are often used in the food industry and applications where environmental friendliness is required.

Classification by application

• Engine oils – Used to reduce friction and wear in engines in cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles. They contain additives for cleaning deposits, corrosion protection, and reducing friction when starting the engine. Viscosity classifications (e.g., 5W-30) allow the oil to be used in different temperature conditions.
• Transmission oils – These oils are designed for lubricating transmissions, where they must withstand high pressure and temperature. They contain EP (Extreme Pressure) additives that protect gears from wear and ensure smooth power transmission in demanding conditions.
• Hydraulic oils – Oils for hydraulic systems that not only lubricate but also transmit power in hydraulic systems. They must have high resistance to oxidation, foaming, and stability at extreme temperatures. They are used in industrial machinery, construction equipment, and hydraulic drives.
• Compressor oils – Special oils designed for compressors where thermal management is important. These oils have high oxidation stability and minimize deposit formation, which increases the service life of the compressor.
• Food-grade oils – Oils and lubricants specially designed for applications where there is a risk of contact with food or food processing equipment. They meet strict hygiene standards and are suitable for lubricating food processing machinery. They have a neutral composition and must be harmless to health.
• Transformer oils – Used to insulate and cool transformers and other electrical equipment. They are chemically stable and have high dielectric strength, which prevents electric arcing and extends the life of the equipment.
• Preservative oils – These oils protect metal surfaces from corrosion during storage and transport. They are used, for example, on weapons, tools, and machine parts. They often contain anti-corrosion components and are easy to apply to ensure long-term protection.
• Cutting oils - Special oils used in metalworking to improve the cutting process and extend tool life. Thanks to their cooling properties, they also help maintain the optimum temperature during machining, which increases the accuracy and quality of the final product.
• Oils for forming and pressing - Oils for the metalworking industry that minimize friction between the tool and the material, ensure better heat dissipation, and extend tool life. Their composition includes anti-corrosion inhibitors, high-pressure additives, and other additives for smooth processes such as metal pressing and bending.
• Saw chain lubricating oils - Oils for lubricating chains and guide bars of chainsaws used in forestry and fruit growing, suitable for loss lubrication of chainsaw chains.
