Belts
Belts are essential components for power transmission between pulleys in industrial machinery, agricultural equipment, and automotive assemblies. They enable reliable power transmission, optimize drive efficiency, and protect machine components from overload.

Overview of the main types of belts
- V-belts – the most common industrial and automotive belts for medium to high loads. Suitable for drives with small and medium pulleys. Advantages: high power transmission with compact dimensions, length stability, option of covered or cut design.
- Flat belts – suitable for low and medium loads with smooth and quiet operation. They are used where power transmission over longer distances and with less bearing wear is required. The disadvantage is lower efficiency under high loads.
- Grooved (V-groove) belts – suitable for drives with higher efficiency and multi-groove pulleys. Advantages: better power transmission than flat belts, more compact drive design. Suitable for medium and high loads with smaller pulley diameters.
- Toothed belts – synchronous drives without slippage, suitable for precise speed and timing transmission, for example in valves, pumps, or machines with precise timing. Advantages: elimination of slippage, high precision; disadvantage: need for precise adjustment.
- Poly-V / multi-V belts – a combination of high efficiency, flexibility, and compactness. Suitable for drives with multiple pulleys, high speeds, or dynamic loads. Advantages: efficient power transmission, flexible routing, lower vibration.
When to use which belt
- V-belts: industrial drives, compressors, pumps, fans, automotive auxiliary drives; wherever reliable power transmission is required under medium to high loads.
- Flat belts: light drives, quiet and smooth running, power transmission over longer distances with smaller pulleys.
- Grooved belts: medium and high loads with compact drives; smaller pulley diameters, multi-V systems.
- Toothed belts: precise synchronous drives, timing fans, pumps with precise speeds.
- Poly-V / multi-V: compact drives with multiple pulleys, dynamic loads, high-speed drives.
Advantages of V-belts compared to other types
- High power transmission with compact dimensions
- Stable length under load
- Option of covered or cut design for greater flexibility and heat dissipation
- Easy compatibility with industrial pulleys according to standard profiles
- Wide range of profiles and widths allows for precise drive adaptation
