Swift col 9720 is a universal synthetic rubber-based spray adhesive designed for the rapid bonding of a wide range of common materials. It can be used for single-sided and double-sided contact bonding and, thanks to its rapid initial adhesion, is particularly suitable for applications where a bond needs to be formed quickly.

The adhesive produces an even spray; once applied, it is transparent and has a low odour. It is suitable for bonding both similar and dissimilar materials together.

Suitable materials

Swift® col 9720 can be used to bond, for example:

• foam materials,

• jute,

• felt,

• textiles,

• insulation materials,

• polystyrene foam,

• leather and synthetic leather,

• certain plastics and plastic films,

• paper and cardboard,

• chipboard,

• other similar materials.

Before bonding, we recommend checking the suitability of the adhesive for the specific material and carrying out a test application, particularly with sensitive plastics, films and foam materials.

Instructions for use

Shake the container thoroughly before use. The desired spray width can be adjusted using the special outlet valve.

Apply the adhesive evenly from a distance of approximately 15–20 cm from the surface to be bonded. Depending on the required bonding method, Swift®col 9720 can be applied to one side or to both surfaces to be joined.

Single-sided bonding

Apply the adhesive to one of the surfaces to be bonded. After approximately 30 seconds, bring the parts to be joined together and press them firmly.

Double-sided contact bonding

If a stronger bond is required, apply the adhesive to both surfaces to be joined. After approximately 1 minute of pre-drying, join the parts within the contact time, which is approximately 1–15 minutes.

The resulting heat resistance of the bond is a maximum of 60 °C and depends on the specific load.

Important note when bonding polystyrene foam

When bonding polystyrene foam to itself or to impermeable materials, it is important to prevent solvents from becoming trapped within the joint. Use only an appropriate amount of adhesive and observe the recommended spray distance.

Once the work is complete, turn the spray can upside down and apply briefly until only propellant gas emerges from the nozzle. This procedure helps to prevent the adhesive from drying out and the nozzle from becoming blocked.

Storage

Store the original sealed packaging away from direct sunlight, dust, moisture and high temperatures. The recommended storage conditions are a dry and clean environment at a temperature above +10 °C and below +35 °C.

We recommend checking with the supplier for information on suitable cleaning agents and cleaning methods. When disposing of the product and its packaging, follow the instructions set out in the relevant safety data sheet (SDS/MSDS) and in accordance with applicable local regulations.
